Welcome to Week 6 of "Analytic Combinatorics." This week, we complete our study of the asymptotics of complex GFs by considering the case of entire functions, which have no singularities. ---------- Lecture 8: Saddle Point Asymptotics. We consider the saddle point method, a general technique for contour integration that also provides an effective path to the development of coefficient asymptotics for GFs with no singularities. As usual, we consider the application of this method to several of the classic problems introduced in Lectures 1 and 2. The lecture ends with a wrapup giving an overview of analytic combinatorics and the themes, methods and applications covered in this course. --------- No assignments this week! RS
